This is my second batch, and I basically did everything for priming (sanitizing bottles, etc.) and had just mixed in the priming sugar and was letting it settle when I realized that I didn’t have caps!
Since there’s no brewing store close by, I had to wait 2 days until I could get caps from a friend. What do I do now? Can I bottle it as-is? Will I lose carbonation and should I add more sugar? How much? Have we ruined it because of too much oxygen exposure? Any help/expertise would be great!
Your beer should still be okay. The priming sugar you added should simply ferment out by the time the bottle caps arrive.
You will then need to add priming sugar to the beer once again prior to bottling.
