Why Is My Final Gravity Same As Original Gravity?

Question:

I just started my first kit. I chose an American pale ale, I had it brewing for about 4 full days and the co2 release bubbles slowed to about one bubble every 40 seconds.

I then transferred the beer into a glass carboy. When I measured my starting gravity level it was damn close to what my final gravity is supposed to be at. Is this good or bad?

Answer:

Sometime fermentation is so vigorous that it is, more or less, complete in just a few days.

Transferring to the secondary fermenter is pretty much to allow the yeast to finish up and settle out and to provided the beer with a little maturation prior to bottling. It sounds like you transferred your beer at the right time.

Please let us know how it comes out.
